Limon is the twoplustwo.com handle of a high-stakes no-limit player who lives in Los Angeles. He’s been playing professionally for 10 years at places like the Commerce. In 2009, he started a thread in the High Stakes NL forum with a bunch of his thoughts on the game. That thread has stayed near the top of the forum for the last two years, and Limon has continually revisited it to answer questions, and add opinions, and argue with naysayers. It’s not only strategy, but also great tips on live play considerations, like poker tells, game selection, buy-in considerations, and bankroll management.
One of most useful things Limon talks about is the importance of investing your money in business ventures. He says a lot of players take extra money and just use it as a chance to move up in stakes. Limon offers an alternative; invest that money in being part-owner or owner in businesses, so you can build a cash flow, as opposed to the stationary bankroll that most poker players think they need. A bankroll sitting in a bank (or under your bed) makes no money; an investment produces profits and cash flow.
Limon is also a great communicator. He presents his ideas in a direct and easy-to-understand way, with some attitude that comes from years of success. I wouldn’t be surprised if he has his own book out in the near future. He’s one of the few live pros that have been willing to share the ins and outs of their game and thought processes, and the poker community owes a lot to him in my opinion. It’s a sure sign of how confident and successful he is that he offers so much of his wisdom for free, and hardly ever refuses to answer a question.
But if you do want to learn more from him, he does offer personal coaching, usually given (as I understand it) at a bar in the casino where you decide to meet him. See the thread linked above for more information, or private-message him from twoplustwo.
